“Upon arrival, officers were immediately met with suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle,” the police department said on its official Facebook page. Officers confirmed that Amy Slaton Halterman “was arrested for illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment.”

A man named Brian Scott Lovell was also in the vehicle and faces the same charges, according to police. “Both individuals were booked into the Crockett County Jail,” the post concluded. “The charges and allegations mentioned in this press release are merely allegations of criminal conduct and are not evidence. Amy, 36, played alongside her sister Tammy Slaton on TLC’s 1000-pound sisters since 2020. She underwent bariatric surgery in 2019 and had lost more than 175 pounds by the end of 2023. However, this was a difficult year for Amy as her husband, Michael Haltermanfiled for divorce in March 2023 after four years of marriage. He gave the separation date as February 2023, one month earlier. The two have sons together, Gage (4) and Glenn (2), and have reached a custody agreement during the divorce proceedings.

“Michael and I share custody,” Amy said in a February episode of 1000-pound sistersthat documented their divorce. “I get the boys 70 percent of the time, Michael 30 percent.”

Before that agreement was reached, Michael, 41, requested 50/50 custody, which Amy denied. “I was the cook, I was the chef, I was the nanny, I was everything in that house,” she insisted. “He was the video game player.” During the hearing, Michael claimed to be an “equal parent,” which shocked Amy.

“I’m raising these kids. I made the bathwater,” she scolded. “You don’t know how your damn son likes his bathwater, so don’t play with me. There should be no reason why he needs extra days with the kids when he’s not even going to take care of them. You’re not getting the kids, your mother is.”

In February, Amy began documenting her new romance with a man named Kevin, sharing photos of their first dates on TikTok. By March, they had seemingly split, as she hinted on social media that she was newly single.

“Life is hard enough as it is. I don’t want to be with anyone that makes it worse,” she wrote at the time. She also responded to a fan in the comments section of one of her TikTok videos, writing, “Love you all, it’s been a rough few days and screw him! I’m not crying over his loser ass.”
