2024 NFL season preview: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens kick off – everything you need to know

2024 NFL season preview: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens kick off – everything you need to know

The NFL’s efforts to bring international popularity to the game will continue this season.

The schedulers have also worked their magic to create exciting pairings for the primetime television shows, starting with the season opener.

The opening weekend continues with the first game of the regular season in Brazil, when the Eagles face the Packers in Sao Paulo on Friday (Saturday, 1:15 a.m. CET). In the first game on Monday night (Tuesday, 1:15 a.m. CET), the Jets host the 49ers – the team that Rodgers supported as a boy and passed over him when they were selected first in the 2005 draft.

There’s a Super Bowl rematch in October, a Thanksgiving triple header, another Black Friday game, and two games on Christmas Day.

The Brazil debut is one of five international games this season. The NFL returns to Munich in November, while three games will be played in London again in October.

Spain will host a match in 2025, and Australia and Ireland are among the markets being considered for future international matches.

Like last year, the Jacksonville Jaguars will play at both Wembley and Tottenham, meaning former Welsh rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit could return to the UK mid-season.

Rees-Zammit spent the summer with the Chiefs before joining the Jags’ practice squad and can be promoted to the active roster up to three times during the season.

The same goes for the other four athletes who also went through this year’s international player path and now play on NFL teams – Travis Clayton (Buffalo Bills), Bayron Matos (Miami Dolphins), Praise Olatoke (Carolina Panthers) and Charlie Smyth (New Orleans Saints).
