2025 WSU football schedule: Louisiana Tech has been added to Cougs’ 2025 roster

2025 WSU football schedule: Louisiana Tech has been added to Cougs’ 2025 roster

Slowly but surely, the Washington State Cougars are filling out their 2025 football schedule. Today, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs announced that they have agreed to travel to Pullman for a game on November 15, 2025. The Bulldogs will forgo a home game with the Tulsa Hurricanes for the trip. This will also be the first time the Bulldogs and Cougs play each other.

With the termination of its scheduling agreement with the Mountain West Conference, WSU will have to work hard to continue to round out its schedule. The Ole Miss Rebels fell right into their lap when the Wake Forest Demon Deacons canceled the second game of their series, but they won’t be so lucky with the other four games they need. It will likely require teams like La Tech to be willing to postpone previously scheduled games for a chance to play at WSU, or find willing partners with open spots on the schedule (more on that below).

This is what the 2025 football schedule looks like so far:

  • 08/30 – vs. Idaho Vandals
  • 9/06 – vs. San Diego State Aztecs
  • September 13 – at the North Texas Mean Green
  • 9/20 – vs. Washington Huskies
  • September 27 – at Virginia Cavaliers
  • 11.10. – at Ole Miss Rebels
  • 11/15 – vs. Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
  • TBA – vs. Oregon St. Beavers

In an ideal world, you’d have a bye between two long road trips to Charlottesville and Oxford, although Wazzu may not be able to afford that luxury given the way they have to build this. One would also like two more home games to avoid only six home games for the third year in a row, but again you can’t be particularly picky.

If we had to guess a date for the Oregon State game, it would be November 22nd. It avoids the last weekend of the month when all major rivalry games are played, and the weekend before Thanksgiving typically has no significant matchups, leaving it largely to WSU and OSU to close the gap in attendance .

You can cross a few teams off this list that just need games, but the ones that catch my eye are the Stanford Cardinal (home game required, former Pac-12 member, one-way trip), Connecticut Huskies (six home games already) , Northwestern Wildcats (need two games, home conference schedule for five games next year) and the SMU Mustangs (need home game). Of course, that’s easier said than done since it takes two to tango here, but at least the 2025 roster should be interesting considering the “Hey, we’ve never played them before!” point of view.
