When GOBankingRates recently compared the prices of eight bath and beauty items from Dollar Tree to similar offerings at Walmart, we were surprised at how many essentials cost several dollars more at the major retailer.

Dollar Tree’s offer is $1.25 for each 18-ounce bottle. Walmart customers, on the other hand, pay a whopping $9.18 for a 12-ounce bottle of the exact same brand of shower gel. Dollar Tree wins this round, saving customers $7.93 on their purchase, with an additional 6 ounces of shower gel included.

While Walmart has dominated the market for cheap cotton balls and swabs in bulk, they have not yet managed to outdo Dollar Tree when it comes to cotton pads.
