9 Florida schools received meat and poultry recalls due to massive listeria outbreaks. Here is the list

More than 200 schools, mostly in Philadelphia and New Jersey, were on the initial list of schools that received a portion of the 11,765,285 pounds of meat and poultry products recalled by BrucePac over listeria concerns.

But there were also nine schools in Florida, listed below.

The USDA ensured that “the products that went to these schools were not part of USDA’s national school lunch and breakfast programs.”

What is listeria?

According to the CDC, about 1,600 people in the United States contract listeria each year, and about 260 of them die. Seniors and children under the age of five are most susceptible to the worst cases of listeria. Pregnant women can experience stillbirths and miscarriages. Most people suffer from fever, headaches, stomach aches and flu-like symptoms.
