Rico Dowdle: Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups – Week 2 (2024)

SHOOTING TRAIN: Add 12+ team leagues

LISTED IN: 40% of leagues

ANALYSIS: Dallas showed an ugly separation between its two running backs in its victory over Cleveland in Week 1: Ezekiel Elliott was used ten times and Rico Dowdle carried the ball eight times.

Neither running back was particularly efficient, meaning the two will likely split again in Week 2.

Dowdle rushed for 26 yards on eight carries and had an additional six yards receiving. His role in the offense doesn’t seem to be much bigger than it was last season, when he took some of the pressure off Tony Pollard.

Dowdle should be on the roster in all 12-team leagues, as there are few options at the running back position. If something were to happen to Elliott, he would move into RB2 territory with an increase in volume. Right now, he’s a borderline flex player and is best used as a backup or reserve option.
