JoJo Siwa causes controversy with her glittery “bump” on the new magazine cover

Former child star JoJo Siwa has caused quite a stir on the Internet with a new magazine cover in which she poses in gender-bending ensembles.

In one particular photo, Siwa appeared to have a bump, leading her fans to question whether the image was just a bold expression of her fashion style or a deliberate attempt to provoke.

JoJo Siwa also talked about what it’s like to be in the spotlight, noting that she has forgotten what it’s like to be in the public eye without people staring at her or wanting to take a photo with her.

JoJo Siwa shows off a dazzling “bump” in new photos

The singer of “Guilty Pleasure” spoke in a new interview with Ladygunn Magazine, where she spoke about her role as a curator of attention and the critical observation that comes with it.

Siwa posed in several pictures, looking stunning and exuding the seductive charm she has become known for. However, her photo on the cover of the magazine featured a bump that got a lot of people talking.

The 21-year-old singer and social media influencer wore a rhinestone-encrusted chest plate in the shape of a male torso with a subtle six-pack, designed by Kyle Farmery of Sparkyle Studio. She paired the bottom part of her ensemble with rhinestone-encrusted underwear that featured a noticeable bulge.

According to Sparklye Studio’s official website, the brand specializes in commission-based custom rhinestone embellishments on “anything you want, including clothing, home items, accessories, shoes, bags, and more.”

The provocative photo raised eyebrows on X (formerly Twitter), with many wondering why Siwa was “wearing a tail.”

“Why does she have a boner?” asked one fan with a crying skull emoji. Another wrote: “Her only way to stay relevant is to shock and make people talk negatively about her.”

A third person wondered: “Did she stuff some socks or what the heck?? But also, WHY??”

“This looks weird, I can’t explain exactly why. But I don’t like it. Maybe it’s because she still looks like a child to me,” wrote another.

“She tries too hard. People with real talent shouldn’t have to try so hard. She needs a new team,” said another.

Meanwhile, a handful of users found Siwa’s look appealing and daring.

“How about if everyone could wear whatever they damn well wanted,” argued one fan. “How about this? Clothes have no gender. All these comments prove how controlled people are by gender norms. This has to be this and that has to be that. You can’t wear that because you have to whine, whine, whine…”

“OMG this is soooo cheesy I love it,” wrote another.

“We’re here at (New York) Fashion Week, even with LADYGUNN. I was like, I’m in, but we have to go somewhere with this,” she said. “We can’t just do a cool photo shoot and hope for the best. It has to be, what the hell is she wearing now? You know what I mean? It has to be what the next Halloween costume is.”

The former “Dance Moms” star also spoke about the amount of scrutiny she has faced since coming of age and her relationship with the Internet.

“My favorite thing on earth is to entertain and make people smile and laugh, whether they’re laughing with me or at me,” she said. “Of course, nobody likes to be hated, but I like to entertain and that’s how people are entertained.”

Apparently remarking that she couldn’t remember what it meant to her to be in the public eye without being stared at or asked for photos, she then spoke about how she manages to switch off from her full-time job as a famous person.

“I’m definitely good at distancing myself. That’s definitely a special talent,” Siwa said. “Whatever moment I’m in, I’m in it for that moment. Once it’s over, though, I’m out of it. You know what I mean? That’s the kind of skill I’ve learned over the years that has helped me.”

During a conversation on Nova Smallzy’s “Surgery” podcast, Siwa spoke about her experiences as a child star in Hollywood, revealing that she felt “taken advantage of as a child” and was involved in “shady dealings.”

“I was taken advantage of and exploited as a child, not in a sexual way, but in a business way,” Siwa said. “I find it so disgusting to hear the dark stories of children… that child stars have been manipulated or, in the worst cases, sexually harassed. I mean, it’s so disgusting.”

“But I have to say that I really appreciate these child stars coming out and speaking openly about their stories, because these are things that I fortunately haven’t had to deal with. But it’s still going on,” she added via Daily Mail.
