Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh ‘moved on’ in an intimate scene after not hearing the ‘cut’

Andrew Garfield has revealed a sex scene between him and Florence Pugh in their new film We live in time took longer than it should have after they didn’t hear the director say “cut.”

In the John Crowley-directed film, Pugh and Garfield play a couple whose life together is not told chronologically but rather spans their lives together; about getting to know each other, falling in love, the birth of a child and the fight against cancer.

The close camaraderie between the co-stars has become a hit with fans, who caught on to the close relationship and inside jokes during the press tour for the heartbreaking romantic drama.

At least according to Garfield, it seems that the closeness between the two was clearly felt on set, especially during an intimate scene that took longer than planned.

Speaking to Josh Horowitz at 92NY on October 4, the 41-year-old said: “The scene becomes more passionate as we choreograph it. And we kind of get into it and go a little further than we should just because we don’t hear ‘cut’ and it feels safe.”

However, Garfield admitted that after a short time they realized that the scene was going on too long and were surprised when cinematographer and cinematographer Stuart Bentley did not intervene.

The Oscar-nominated actor continued, “At a certain point, I feel like we both said telepathically to each other: This definitely feels like a long take.”

“Stuart has the camera at his side and turned into the wall,” he added as he spotted Bentley and a boom operator standing in the corner of the room trying to avert their gaze.

Garfield also praised Pugh, 28, for being “very confident in her body and her sexuality.”

It comes after Garfield responded to a fan theory La La Land it’s actually about his relationship with Emma Stone.
