An organization called Hands Off My Porn launched a campaign that spent $100,000 on ads for Kamala Harris’ campaign.

“Your motive? “To prevent further age verification laws from coming into force – a development they fear could significantly impact their profit margins by making it more difficult for underage and anonymous users to access explicit material,” says Evie reported Oct. 9

“The ad campaign follows Harris’ recent appearance on ‘Call Her Daddy,’ a sex podcast known for its vulgar and explicit language,” according to The Washington Stand reported.

Studies have shown that dHarmful effects of pornography about mental health, relationships and perceptions of sex. The pervasive nature of pornography, especially in the digital age, normalizes misogyny, violent behavior, and a transactional view of intimacy. It is an industry associated with human trafficking, abuse and exploitation – particularly of children and young women, who are often coerced or manipulated into taking part in degrading acts.”

Film guide® reported:

Porn triggers the same brain reactions that drugs cause in a drug addict. Valerie Voon, professor of psychiatry at the University of Cambridge, found When her team showed porn to young men with compulsive porn habits, their brain scans mirrored the brain scans of drug addicts who were shown images of drugs.

Their study also found that porn produced “greater activity in the reward centers of the brain in young people than in older participants when they were shown porn.”

This is because “the emotional center of the brain develops faster than the part of the brain that controls impulses.” This disparity “explains why teenagers lack the maturity to suppress sexual desires, thoughts and behaviors evoked by pornographic content,” says a review of research on the topic explained.

Evie states that the industry is driven by addiction. Their concern is to protect profits, not people and minds.

“Republicans have historically pushed more aggressively for regulations affecting the porn industry, which has resulted in significant setbacks for the industry in various states,” Evie reported. “These efforts have often focused on protecting children, promoting public health and ensuring accountability for the distribution of content.

Republican-led states like Utah and Louisiana have been at the forefront of passing age verification laws to access pornographic websites,” Evie reported. “These laws require users to provide proof of age before entering porn sites, directly restricting access for minors and significantly impacting site traffic in these states. The industry fought back, citing privacy concerns, but the results were clear: less traffic and fewer opportunities to exploit underage users.”

Utah recently declared pornography a public health crisis, and the Republican-backed Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act (SESTA) and Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (FOSTA) bills were in favor of regulating online -Content of essential importance. Once implemented, platforms could more easily be held responsible for sex trafficking.

“Under Republican administrations, there have also been more aggressive efforts to enforce federal obscenity laws, particularly extreme content,” Evie reported. “These prosecutions have historically served as a deterrent to the production and distribution of particularly harmful or illegal pornography. The threat of prosecution under Republican leadership limits the industry’s legal distribution options.”

“In contrast, Democrats have generally shown little to no interest in enforcing these types of regulations, often citing concerns about privacy, free speech or sexual freedom. This unregulated approach has resulted in the porn industry favoring Democratic candidates who are less likely to pass restrictive laws that impact their profits,” Evie continued. “In fact, many Democrats argue that age verification laws could violate the right to privacy or unfairly target adult consumers. This makes them less likely to support similar measures, allowing the porn industry to thrive with fewer obstacles.”

The porn industry supports Harris because it recognizes that a Democratic-led government will be more lax on porn regulations

The Seattle Times said The masterminds behind the “Hands Off My Porn” campaign are aware that Harris’ sentiment toward Trump isn’t great right now, but young men might be convinced. And porn sites are hotspots for this demographic.

“This willingness by the Democratic Party to embrace industries like porn reveals a troubling contradiction: How can a party that claims to stand for women’s rights, mental health and children’s well-being continue to look the other way when it comes to the harm it causes Porn industry in the real world?” asks Evie. “Are they really going to continue to ignore the harmful effects of a company that thrives on addiction and exploitation because they are willing to write a campaign check?”

“The rise of easily accessible pornography has been devastating to young men and women alike, distorting views about sex, relationships and consent before they have even had a chance to develop a healthy understanding of these concepts. Parents, educators and even young adults themselves are calling for better regulation to protect minors from this toxic content.”
