Brandon Miller left the second half of the season opener with a left hip injury

Brandon Miller left the second half of the season opener with a left hip injury

Charlotte Hornets second-year winger Brandon Miller suffered a left hip injury in the first half of the season opener against the Rockets. After Miller played his regular nine minutes of play in the first quarter, there was a delay in checking in the second quarter. He eventually returned, but had to leave the game after just one minute of play.

During halftime, the Hornets announced the following update, which ruled him out of the second half of the game.

Whether Miller will be available going forward is unknown at this time, but if the injury was enough to keep him out of the second half of the season opener, it could be serious enough to force a multi-game absence.

It’s unclear when Miller suffered the injury, as there was no clear moment in the first quarter when he appeared to injure his left hip. Maybe it was his brutal dunk early in the first quarter or a 4-point play where he was fouled for a three-pointer.
