Sony has finally made it possible PC support for PSVR 2but you’ll need to get your hands on the hard-to-find PSVR 2 PC adapter.

Frustratingly, this is all too often the case with new PlayStation 5 accessories – and could also be the case with the rumored PS5Pro this fall and maybe PS2 Given Sony’s unfortunate track record, there probably won’t be a handheld next year. The adapter is already hard to find and no longer available at most major retailers. We’ll update this article if that changes.

The PSVR 2 hasn’t exactly flown off the shelves – although a recent discount saw PSVR 2 sales increase by over 2,000%. It suggests that Sony misjudged demand or did not ship enough units, something we PlayStation Portal Replenishment.

Some of the PSVR 2’s best features like HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback are disabled when playing VR games on PC, which is a real shame.

You must also make sure that your PC meets these minimum requirements:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit / Windows 11 64-bit

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7600 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (Zen 2 or newer architecture required)

  • RAM/Storage: 8 GB or more

  • GPU/Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or higher (Turing or higher architecture required) / NVIDIA RTX series / AMD Radeon RX 5500XT or higher / AMD Radeon RX 6500XT or higher

  • DisplayPort/DisplayPort 1.4: (must have a standard DisplayPort or mini DisplayPort output connector)

  • USB-C: Direct connection only

  • Bluetooth-compatible: Bluetooth 4.0 or higher

    For best performance, Sony recommends using an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 or newer GPU or an AMD Radeon RX 6600XT or newer GPU.

Still, access to Steam VR and games like Half-Life: Alyx might be reason enough for some of you to part with $59.99. After all, Sony didn’t deliver the embarrassing abundance of PSVR 2 games This is what many of us have hoped for, although there is a growing list of PSVR 2 games you can play while sitting if the headset makes you sick.

The PSVR 2 PC adapter also helps reduce the headset’s price from $549, as you no longer need to buy a PS5 console. You’re missing out Top PSVR 2 games like Gran Turismo 7, Resident Evil Village and Horizon Call of the Mountain, but there are many more titles to enjoy on PC – if you can get your hands on a PSVR 2 PC adapter. Yes, it’s like the PS5 replenishment all the chaos again.
