Greater Toledo home award raises $325,000 for ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital

Greater Toledo home award raises 5,000 for ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – This is the culmination of the first raffle for a new home.

8,600 tickets resulted in donations of $325,000 to ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital.

“Philanthropy is what truly drives our mission and supports the patient journey and better outcomes. We are thrilled that our community has stepped up,” said Dasa Dzierwa, Associate Vice President of the ProMedica Foundation.

With these tickets you could win a brand new home from Mavillino Custom Homes.

“A lot of work. A lot of work. I’m not going to lie. We’ve had some stressful times. Of course we’ve had some issues with the weather and stuff, but it always works out and everyone sticks to their plan. And as long as everyone goes at it full steam ahead, good things happen,” says Matt Maxwell, co-owner of Mavillino Custom Homes.

13 Action News documented the journey from December 2023 to June 2024. During this period, groundbreaking took place, the house was built, and the keys were given to the raffle winners, Dave and Deborah Keeler of Toledo.

Now there is another gift. The proceeds from the raffle itself will go entirely to the hospital’s all-round services.

“A donation like this to a children’s hospital allows us to offer program services that go beyond the normal, expected care that one receives, and that is a gift. Being able to do that is a gift to us and it is certainly a gift to the patients, children and families that we treat,” said Paula Grieb, COO and chief nursing officer at ProMedica Ebeid Children’s Hospital.

Due to the success of the first raffle, another raffle of houses in the greater Toledo area is already being planned for 2025.
