A LUXURY holiday park in Cheshire in the shadow of two historic castles is coming onto the market.

Castle View Rural Retreats has been put up for sale by Larch Property, asking price £4.5 million.

The property consists of a five-bedroom farmhouse, seven converted barns and an equestrian centre, and offers views of both the 800-year-old Beeston Castle and the comparatively modern Peckforton Castle.

“An exceptionally well presented rental business comprising seven units generating substantial income, a five bedroom farmhouse, exemplary equestrian facilities with outstanding views of Peckforton and Beeston castles, all set within approximately 14.3 acres of land,” the listing states.

The property is located approximately four miles south-west of Tarporley, just a stone’s throw from Beeston Castle.

The current owner has converted the former barns into a rental/letting business with one to three bedroom units, all with gardens and parking.

“This very successful business generates significant revenue,” the listing continues.

Then there is the main house – Lower Rock Farm – a former farmhouse of the Peckforton Estate.

It is surrounded by well-kept gardens and paddocks, including two lakes and a wooden enclosure.

The listing states: “The house is presented to an exceptional standard. The current owners have undertaken a careful and thorough programme of modernisation, with the mantra ‘no expense spared’ evident both in the interior design and throughout the property.”

An American-style barn houses the main stable block with 10 Monarch stalls, three wash areas, a kitchen, toilets and a tack room.

There is also the more traditional barn, which contains an isolation barn, storage room and an outdoor arena.

Real estate agent Larch Property points out that a public footpath runs through the property and that an application has been made to make the rental units accessible.

Potential buyers must also note that the sporting rights remain with the estate of Lord Tollemache.

Any renovations or new buildings also require the written consent of the estate.
