Barron Trump attends NYU’s Stern Business School, says Donald

Barron Trump arrived at New York University in Manhattan on Wednesday, September 4, after months of speculation about the former First Son’s college choice. Three NYU security officials confirmed to PEOPLE that he was spotted outside the library surrounded by Secret Service agents.

Barron’s father, former President Donald Trump, teased the New York Post in August that his youngest son had chosen a “good” school in New York, but did not provide any further information about which school.

On September 4, Donald Daily Mail that 18-year-old Barron would attend NYU’s Stern School of Business. “He’s been accepted to a lot of colleges,” Donald told the outlet. “He’s a very smart guy.”

Barron graduated from the Oxbridge Academy on May 17. His father Donald, mother Melania Trump and grandfather Viktor Knavs attended the exclusive ceremony in West Palm Beach.

He moved to Oxbridge after his family left the White House in 2021. He had previously attended numerous other prestigious schools, including Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in New York City and St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland.

Donald confirmed in a radio interview in Philadelphia in May that his youngest son wanted to continue his education, but in the months after graduating high school, Barron kept his college choices secret.

A source told PEOPLE this spring that Melania kept her son close while he considered his future plans.

“Melania will continue to care about Barron’s future just as she did during his early and current school years,” the insider said. “He is her world. She is proud of him and she is the primary decision maker for Barron and his future.”

Earlier this year, in a statement issued by his mother, Barron declined the opportunity to serve as a delegate for Florida at the Republican National Convention, citing “prior commitments.”

“While Barron is honored to have been selected as a delegate by the Republican Party of Florida, he regrets to decline to attend due to other commitments,” Melania said in the statement.

The convention took place in Milwaukee from July 15 to 18. Trump’s youngest son was not present, making him the only one of the Republican presidential candidate’s five children to miss the event. However, shortly before the RNC, Barron appeared for the first time at a campaign event for his father.
