Lil Wayne fans say he should headline Super Bowl 59, not Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamarwill be on stage at the next Super Bowl, but not everyone is excited about it – because some wanted to see the local hero Lil Wayne next year in New Orleans.

Here’s the deal…this morning, the NFL announced K. Dot as headliner for the biggest performance in sports — no big surprise given the success of his drake Diss track “Not Like Us”.

While many people are excited that Kendrick is getting his own show after performing alongside other rap legends like Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige And 50 cents Back at SB LVI, others point out that New Orleans has its own star rapper who should have taken the top spot.

DJ AcademicsFor example, pointed out that Kendrick is a great player … but Super Bowl 61 is supposed to be in LA anyway, so the NFL could have waited two years to book him.

Master P He also made his own statement… calling Kendrick one of the best in the rap game – while also questioning why LW was not chosen to perform.

Fans repeat more of the same X … everyone gives Kendrick his flowers – and agrees that the NFL made a mistake here.

Of note…nobody is saying Lil Wayne won’t perform with Lamar – they did the song “Mona Lisa” for Tha Carter V together, which might be a fun way to include Wayne.

Still, most people feel it should have been Wayne’s show where Kendrick could have possibly made a cameo.
