A great place to keep the kids entertained all year round

At the Clark Planetarium, guests can explore three floors of FREE interactive exhibits.

Jenny Hardman spoke with Jayceen Craven Walker, education specialist, about the universe and dark matter and dark energy in honor of her new film Dark Universe which premieres on Friday, August 23rd at the Hansen Dome Theatre.

Dark Universe is told by the famous physicist Neil deGrasse Tyson takes audiences to the forefront of cosmic exploration, revealing breakthroughs that have challenged astronomers to solve two great cosmic mysteries: dark matter and dark energy.

Jayceen explained the expansion of the universe through a visual demonstration using a dotted balloon.

When the balloon is deflated, the stars and galaxies are closer together. When we add air or “dark energy” to the balloon, the stars and galaxies become farther and farther away.

Annual membership starts at $35 and allows you to see Dark Universe, T.REX 3D and all other films playing in IMAX and the Dome Theater.

You can also see laser shows like Laser Taylor Swift and Laser Queen and receive discounts at the Planet Fun gift shop and concession stand year-round.
