Aces vs. Fever WNBA prediction, odds and key players for Wednesday, September 11 (How to

Wednesday’s WNBA game of the night is between the Las Vegas Aces and the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Las Vegas is ranked fourth in the standings, but only has a one-game lead over the Seattle Storm before today’s games.

Meanwhile, the Fever will look to claim 6th place as they are two games ahead of the Phoenix Mercury with just four games left.

Caitlin Clark has been in top form since the Olympic break, averaging 24.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from beyond the three-point line.

As an underdog, can she lead the Fever to a surprise?

Let’s look at the odds, the key players to watch and my tip for Wednesday night’s clash.

Las Vegas Aces

A’ja Wilson: Wilson missed the Aces’ loss to the New York Liberty over the weekend, but is expected to return to action in this game. Bookmakers seem to believe she will play her usual role, favoring the Aces by two points. Wilson is the MVP favorite, averaging 27.3 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Indiana fever

Caitlin Clark: Clark, the favorite for Rookie of the Year, is currently averaging 19.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game, while making 42.3 percent of his shots from the field and 34.7 percent of his 3-pointers. Since the Olympic break, Clark has recorded 20 or more points and 10 or more assists in five games.

For anyone betting OVER at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday, this is the dream, even if Wilson ends up sitting out.

Since the Olympic break, the Fever have ranked first in the league in offensive rating, and these teams rank second and third in that statistic for the season.

If Wilson plays her usual role, it will be a huge boost to Las Vegas’ offense. But if not, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young are perfectly capable of high-scoring games.

Indiana has reached the OVER in 24 of its 36 games, and I’d much rather focus on the total since the Fever have failed to do it in five straight games, but the Aces have done it in five straight games.

I expect a high-scoring game between these playoff teams.

Selection: OVER 177.5 (-110)
