Addison Rae revives red carpet fun in lingerie and tutu at 2024 MTV VMAs

It’s Addison Rae’s world – we just live in it.

If you’ve been finding red carpet fashion boring and monotonous lately, the TikTok influencer turned Gen Z icon has arrived at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards to change your mind.

When Rae walked the carpet today at the UBS Arena in New York, she took the lingerie theme literally and appeared simply in her underwear, wearing a white set custom-made by Miss Claire Sullivan, which included an exaggeratedly shaped silky bra adorned with boa feathers.

Along with her lingerie selection, Rae also wore a voluminous and voluminous tulle tutu. She completed the look with silky ivory peep-toe pumps and a pearl-studded hair clip.

Rae previously reflected on her personal style development in an interview with 2022 Elle UK

“When I look at pictures of myself from two years ago, I think: I don’t know her,” the influencer told the outlet. “I’ve grown into my style a lot over the last few years and the older I get and the more I experience life and different people, the more things I discover that I like and that inspire me.”

She added: “It’s been a big thing learning how to style my body type and figuring out what looks good on me and what feels good. Every body is so different, so something that looks great on someone else might not look the same on me. And that’s OK. It’s about finding things you love, but in a way that gives you the most confidence – and making it your own.”

She also writes about social movements and connects with activists fighting for workers’ rights, climate justice, and more. Offline, she’s probably spending too much time on TikTok, rewatching Emma (the 2020 version, of course), or buying another corset.
