Our 70- to 80-degree November days of opening windows or turning on a fan are soon coming to an end in the Lower Hudson Valley.

Something called “Autumn” is about to return.

Temperatures of 75 degrees are expected on Thursday, with highs of 69 degrees expected on Friday. Lots of sunshine is also forecast for both days.

Sunshine and cooler temperatures await us this weekend

Although sunshine is still expected Saturday, temperatures are expected to drop to 54 degrees and then drop to a low of 35 degrees overnight into Sunday, the National Weather Service forecast says.

Or as AccuWeather’s forecast puts it: “It will be noticeably cooler heading into Saturday.”

According to the National Weather Service, a high of 58 degrees and some sunshine is forecast during the day, a low of 49 degrees and rain is likely Sunday night.

However, temperatures are expected to rise a bit again on Veterans Day on Monday with high temperatures of 66 degrees. The weather service said there was a 30% chance of rain before 1 p.m. Monday.

Temperatures are expected to begin dropping through Wednesday, with highs in the 54 to 60 degree range, AccuWeather’s forecast showed, and nights will become colder again.
