Amazon Offers Gas Discount for Prime Members – NBC Bay Area

Amazon has announced a new benefit for Prime members: fuel discounts.

The company’s latest perk gives Prime members 10 cents off per gallon at thousands of gas stations across the US. According to Amazon, that’s an average savings of $70 per year.

Prime members already get free shipping, savings at Whole Foods, prescription benefits, access to Amazon videos, music, games, photo storage and more, including a free one-year membership to Grubhub’s premium delivery service Plus and discounts on prescription drugs. The cost of membership is $139 per year. Discounted memberships are available for $69 per year for students with a valid school email account.

The discount comes from the fact that prices at the pump average $3.15 per gallon, according to AAA.

How to get the gas discount on Amazon Prime

The 10 cent gas discount is available at more than 7,000 Amoco, AM/PM and BP gas stations across the country. To receive the discount, members must sign up to BP’s free Earnify rewards program, which works across all three BP-owned gas station brands.

Members must then visit the Amazon.com fuel savings page Here to link your Prime account to your Earnify account. Next, download the Earnify app to find your nearest Amoco, AM/PM, or BP gas station.

To redeem the offer at the pump, enter your phone number or linked payment method when fueling. Members can also use the Earnify app to select the gas station and pump where they would like to redeem the discount.
