Apple plans ‘unusual and mandatory’ meeting for Apple Store employees ahead of iPhone 16 release

Apple has reportedly scheduled a mandatory meeting for all retail employees for the evening of September 12 or the morning of September 13. according to Bloomberg’s Mark GurmanThis timing is unusual because pre-launch meetings for new products usually take place on Sundays rather than during the week.

Gurman also reported that Apple is rumored to unveil the iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, and new AirPods on September 10However, this date has not been officially confirmed.

The scheduling of the midweek retail meeting has led to speculation that Apple may be preparing significant updates or changes to communicate to its teams ahead of the product launch, which could include final preparations for the iPhone 16 release or new in-store processes and promotional strategies for the upcoming devices.

The highlight of the event is expected to be the unveiling of the iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. These new iPhones are expected to feature a similar design to the iPhone 15 range, but will have some key new features, such as a new capacitive button on the side for taking photos and videos. The Pro models are also expected to have slightly larger displays, with the iPhone 16 Pro rumored to have a 6.3-inch screen and the Pro Max a 6.9-inch screen.

In addition to the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 10 at the event. Rumors suggest that the Series 10 will have larger displays that could potentially rival the size of the Apple Watch Ultra, as well as a thinner case design. This could be one of the most significant updates to the Apple Watch in recent years.

New AirPods are also expected to be unveiled at the event: Apple is expected to launch two new models of its entry-level AirPods, both of which will feature noise cancellation for the first time.

While the focus is on these new products, there are also indications that Apple is working on new Macs with M4 chips, although these are not expected to launch until later in the year.
