Apple TV 4K users can stream three college football games in 4K on October 19th – Appleosophy

Another weekend is upon us and for many Americans out there, that means it’s time to watch some college football, as is tradition every Saturday in the fall.

There are a few games available to stream in 4K this weekend and here they are:

  • Nebraska vs. Indiana – 12 p.m. ET on FOX
  • Colorado vs. Arizona – 4 p.m. ET on FOX
  • Georgia vs. Texas – 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN 4K (HD simulcast on ABC and ESPN+)

When it comes to actually streaming these FOX Sports games live, fans will need to use a live TV streaming service like YouTube TV, FuboTV, DirecTV Stream, or Sling TV (Sling Blue only or Sling Orange + Blue plans, only FOX) subscription available in select TV markets on Sling TV), all of which will have a FOX 4K channel. Those who have YouTube TV will also need the 4K Plus add-on for an additional $9.99 per month.

Another way to stream the FOX Sports games in 4K when available, whether on FOX or FS1, is through the FOX Sports app. Anyone who uses this method must log in with valid access data from the TV provider in order to stream the games live and in 4K from this app.

For streaming the ESPN game (in this case the ABC) in 4K, this is supposed to be done through ESPN 4K channels provided by YouTube TV, Sling TV and other live TV streaming services.

It is reported that the games broadcast by FOX and ESPN have been “upscaled” in 4K from 1080p.

You’ll also need a compatible 4K streaming device like the Apple TV 4K to truly stream these games in 4K.
