Armed robbery reported at Mansfield store, suspect sought: PD

MANSFIELD, CT – State police are investigating an armed robbery at the Citgo gas station around noon Saturday.

At 12:05 p.m., Troop C responded to the gas station at 9 Stafford Road for a report of an armed robbery. The suspect displayed a long-barreled revolver, demanded all cash from the clerk and left the station on foot with about $700 in cash, state police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slim build and 20 to 30 years old. He is wearing a royal blue hoodie with a Champion logo, black sweatpants, gloves and a mask over his face, state police said.

The suspect was last seen traveling south on RT 32 in the area of ​​Pleasant Valley Road. A bloodhound trail led to Pleasant Valley Road, but nothing was found, state police said.

A witness described a gray Ford pickup truck, possibly an F-150 four-door, with a loud exhaust driving out of the area at a high rate of speed in an unknown direction, state police said. Anyone who sees a person or vehicle matching that description should not approach or engage them, but should immediately call 911 and report the incident to police, state police said.
