Ben Stiller comedy release date set on Hulu

Hulu confirmed Thursday the blockbuster, which Deadline won during the Toronto Film Festival last month nutcrackerthe TIFF-opening family vacation comedy from David Gordon Green starring Ben Stiller. Additionally, the release date has been set for November 29, 2024 on Hulu, with the picture also set to stream internationally on Disney+.

The reported eight-figure deal was the first major sale at the festival, where the film was warmly received by audiences at its world premiere. It was Stiller’s first leading role in a feature film in seven years.

Stiller plays a strict and work-obsessed city slicker who is forced to work as a caretaker for his rambunctious, orphaned nephews on the family farm. Linda Cardellini, Edi Patterson, Tim Heidecker and Toby Huss also star, as well as newcomers and real siblings Homer, Ulysses, Atlas and Arlo Janson as nephews.

The film was shot on the brothers’ farm in Ohio. Green, a longtime family friend with her mother from film school, made the film based on her life. Leland Douglas wrote the screenplay.

UTA Independent Film Group represents worldwide distribution rights to the picture, financed by Rivulet Films. Rob Paris and Mike Witherill produced alongside Nate Meyer of Rough House Pictures, who co-developed the script with Douglas.
