Authorities said a teenager was arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a gas station in River Edge earlier this month.

The Bergen County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday that a 16-year-old Bergen County boy will face charges of armed robbery, weapons offenses and theft.

On August 7 at approximately 4:45 a.m., River Edge police officers were called to an armed robbery at a gas station on Hackensack Avenue. The prosecutor said a person wearing a mask and hoodie brandished a handgun in his waistband and demanded money from the attendant and cashier. The suspect fled with several hundred dollars.

The investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit and the River Edge Police Department determined that the crime was committed by the juvenile.
