Best Spirits to Use – Black Myth: Wukong Guide

Unlike transformations, you share the same health bar with spirits, so it’s important to bring them out at the right time. Not sure which spirits to equip? Here are some that we think are the best spirits in Black Myth: Wukong.

Remember that spirits can be upgraded! In any Keeper’s Shrine, you can select the “Cultivate Spirits” option from the Self-Improvement menu. This will allow you to upgrade your spirits using a combination of willpower and items like Iron Bull Blood and Tadpoles. If you like a spirit, cultivate it so you can maximize its enhancements.

Wandering monster

This ghost can be completely missed if you reach the end of Chapter 1 without picking it up, but you’ll also likely find it before you have your pumpkin. Luckily, you can pick it up from the nearest Keeper’s Shrine once you have the pumpkin, and we recommend you do so as it’s great to have equipped, especially in the early game.

The Wandering Wight boosts your defense considerably (+20 to be exact), which can make all the difference in battles. Additionally, its special attack, Faithful Kowtow, lets you deal a ton of damage by hurling the giant’s head at an enemy.

Guangmou

This is another spirit you can collect in Chapter 1, and it allows you to use the special attack “Veiled Vipers”. When you do this, four snakes will appear to help you and deal poison damage to your enemies.

You get a moderate increase to the poison damage you deal, plus the bonus of poison resistance. Even if you don’t face too many enemies that use poison attacks, you’ll find that many of them are vulnerable to poison damage and the status increases, allowing you to deplete an enemy’s health bar while performing other moves.
