Catherine Hensley was the best weather forecaster for the weekly Atomic City Road Runner race, held on the trail behind the County Aquatic Center. She was 9 seconds off her predicted time and was the first woman to finish the one-mile paved course with a time of 17:23.

Other good predictions were made by Ted Atkins, senior, with a 24-second margin; Elizabeth Atkins, with a 30-second margin; Paul Geimer and Iris Geimer, 1, with a 39-second margin and the best female runner on the 1-mile paved course with a time of 6:54; and Lily Nolen, 12, with a 60-second margin and the best female runner on the 1-mile trail course with a time of 13:42.

On the 1-mile trail course, Hal Marshall was first with a time of 10:57. On the 3-mile trail course, Valerio Pinchetti was best with a time of 25:24 and Madeline Harms was the best woman with a time of 32:11.

Next week’s race is Tuesday, August 27th at 6:00 p.m. and starts on North Mesa on San Ildefonso Road, past the soccer field, then turns left onto the access road in the open field to the playground/tennis courts. There are 1 mile paved runs and 1 mile and 5 mile trail runs available.
