Celebrate Labor Day weekend with the market’s fall food truck rally

There’s a lot to do this Labor Day weekend and plenty of time to get it all done.

Chattanooga Market is expected to attract thousands of hungry visitors to the fall food truck rally in search of the tastiest food in town. There’s something for every taste: Thai, tacos, pizza, Cajun, wings, hot dogs, ice cream, waffles, donuts and more.

The weekend kicks off with the Chattanooga River Market, held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Tennessee Aquarium Plaza. It’s a smaller version of the popular downtown market that features local artists and food artisans showcasing their products.

There is also live music every week under the Plaza Bridge. This is a great way to attract holiday weekend visitors and really showcase Chattanooga and the local talent. A visit to the Tennessee Aquarium is always a hit – people can stroll around and check out the various performers before or after their visit.

The main event – Sunday, September 1st

Visitors can expect a wide variety of cultural flavors and the largest gathering of food trucks in Chattanooga. The trucks come from Chattanooga and other nearby cities and festival-goers will be eager to eat their fill. Visually, the Fall Food Truck Rally is a sight to behold, with dozens of food trucks in one location.

This combination of tacos, donuts, burgers, paninis and waffles will make your mouth water.

The Chattanooga Market opens at 11 a.m., and breakfast tacos from Abuelitas Seasons could usher in an innovative dining experience. Johnny Popper’s never disappoints; the new bistro food truck is the talk of the town here after winning the FiveStar Food Fight this summer.

And to complete the experience, Freaky Funnel’s serves a pretty rich funnel cake for dessert. Those who are a little more adventurous will want to check out some new cultural restaurants like Mohmoh’s Asian Food Truck or Taqueria el Jaguar.

Admission to the festival is free for visitors. In addition to amazing food for purchase, the Chattanooga Fall Food Truck Rally features live music and local brews that make for a great street party. Live music on the Lodge Cast Iron Sizzle Stage: Andru Jamison at 12:30pm and Bryanna Fuquea at 2pm.

At the same time, the regular Chattanooga Market takes place at the First Horizon Pavilion, with over 150 other vendors offering their farm-fresh produce and artisan goods – it’s a lively day.

Thousands of visitors and locals come to the Chattanooga Market every Sunday to support local farms, artists and – especially this Sunday – the food trucks.
