A concert-sized stage will be set up at the south end of Veterans Park in Milwaukee on Thursday morning.

Preparations began in the early hours of Thursday morning and come a day before Vice President Kamala Harris’ scheduled speech and concert in Milwaukee on Friday evening.

However, a Harris campaign official said Harris’ Friday event would not be held at the lakefront, but did not provide details of the venue.

An electrical permit filed with the city for Veterans Park lists the event description as “Kamala Harris Rally.”

Meanwhile, a noise permit for McKinley Marina, just north of Veterans Park, lists “Harris for President” as the “responsible party” and a concert as the purpose of the event. The noise variance permit lists a date range of Wednesday through Monday.

Majic Productions crews were busy erecting the scaffolding and temporary flooring while the generators were brought in on semi-trailers.

Jose Sierra, owner of Chicago-based Sierra Public Safety Group, set up a surveillance camera just outside the fenced area.

When a reporter asked him if the stage was being set for the vice president, he just nodded and said, “Yes.”

While Harris returns to Wisconsin on Friday, former President Donald Trump will hold a rally at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.

The appearances will mark the second time in this final week before Tuesday’s election that Harris and Trump will both be in this key swing state on the same day for their final arguments with voters.
