Dan Quinn Presser: We are just lucky to win despite so many penalties

Dan Quinn held his weekly press conference on Tell the Truth Monday, and it’s the first after a Washington Commanders win. He’s very pleased with the running back duo of Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler. They were both major factors in yesterday’s win, and Quinn said they both bring unique things to the offense. He also said he was impressed with Zach Ertz, who fended off a potential interception and had 4 catches for 62 yards. Jayden Daniels’ movement outside the pocket can open up the offense, and “that’s a part of the game that’s going to take off for him.”

Penalties (10 for 69 yards) were a big problem for Washington yesterday, and Quinn admitted that despite all the flags thrown against the Commanders, they were happy to win. Quinn was more upset about the pre-snap penalties than anything else. They didn’t score a touchdown, either, but after the team’s kicking woes this year, he “doesn’t whine about kicking field goals.”
