“Dancing with the Stars” – Review: Oscar night ends with double elimination

LOS ANGELES — It was Oscar night at “Dancing with the Stars” and the couples paid tribute to a variety of Hollywood films from the past few years.

In the end, however, two couples were eliminated from the competition.

Actresses Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong delivered the best musical performance of the evening with a rumba to “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish.

Meanwhile, actors Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart landed at the bottom of the scoreboard (15 out of 30) after their waltz to the theme song from “The Godfather.”

In a double elimination, actress Tori Spelling and convicted con artist Anna Delvey were voted out of the ballroom.

Delvey surprised the audience after her elimination when co-host Julianne Hough asked her what she would take away from the experience on the show. Delvey quickly responded with one word: “Nothing.”

Spelling, on the other hand, was much more diplomatic, saying the experience had been “incredible.” She also told her children: “You can achieve anything you set your mind to.”

There will be no new episode of “DWTS” next week due to the vice presidential debate. Instead, the couples will return to the dance floor the following week with two new episodes. October 8th is Soul Train Night and October 9th is Heavy Metal Hair Night.

“Dancing With the Stars” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
