Dave Grohl announces he has had a baby out of wedlock and hopes to “regain” his family’s trust

Dave Grohl just dropped a bombshell that shocked his fans. In a statement on Instagram, the Foo Fighters rock star announced that he had had a baby girl with a woman who is not his wife of more than twenty years: Jordyn Blum.

“I recently became the father of a little daughter,” he began in a strikingly passive voice, “who was born outside of my marriage.”

“I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her,” he continued. “I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

Grohl and Blum – who married in 2003 – have three daughters together: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10. Before saying goodbye, the musician said he was “grateful” for the public’s “consideration” of all four of his children as they “move forward together.”

Comments were disabled on the post, but fans had plenty to say about the infidelity on X (formerly Twitter). Among the angry and disappointed memes, fans joked that he should have started the post with one of his captions: “I have something else to confess.” They also noted how calm he seemed about a topic that must be so difficult for his wife, older daughters, and other loved ones.

“Dave Grohl had a baby out of wedlock and announced it like a football team firing their coach lol,” said one user.

“Dave Grohl cheated on his wife and had a child outside of his marriage. No one is talking to me right now,” wrote another.

Neither Grohl’s representatives nor his immediate family have commented further on the matter, although there are various reports that his older daughters deactivated their social media accounts following their father’s post.

The “nicest guy in rock” continued: “It’s changed everything I do. When you have kids, you see life differently. You feel love more deeply and you’re maybe a little more compassionate.”

Grohl was previously married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood and admitted that infidelity contributed to the divorce. The Associated Press.
