HAVERSTRAW, NY – Rockland County authorities, along with state and federal agencies, conducted a coordinated search warrant at a local tobacco store located at 48 Broadway in the Village of Haverstraw.

The operation was led by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations and other state and local law enforcement agencies.

  • Police investigate nighttime shooting of teenager in Baltimore

    BALTIMORE, MD – Detectives are investigating a shooting incident in the Western District involving a 17-year-old male victim.

    On August 7, at approximately 11:50 p.m., patrol officers were called to a local hospital after a shooting victim was reported. Upon arrival, they found the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound.

    Investigators concluded the shooting occurred in the 2400 block of Lakeview Avenue. Western District detectives are asking for the public’s help and asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2477 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

  • Building fire on Chapline Street in Sharpsburg quickly brought under control

    SHARPSBURG, MD — A fire broke out Thursday in a two-story single-family home at 207 W Chapline Street. The Sharpsburg Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene after a passerby spotted the fire around 11:11 a.m.

    The fire, which started on the porch, was brought under control within five minutes by the six firefighters dispatched to the scene. Fortunately, there were no injuries and the damage to the building is estimated at $10,000. The house did not have a smoke detector and there is no information about fire alarms or sprinkler systems.

    The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Western Regional Office at 301-766-3888.
