Did Kamala Harris concede the election and call Trump to congratulate him? Claim goes viral

After Donald Trump declared his victory on Tuesday, several social media users claimed that VP Kamala Harris conceded the election and called the former president to congratulate him. However, there is no evidence to support this claim. Neither the Harris-Walz campaign nor Trump’s team have confirmed this.

This came after Trump claimed victory in the 2024 presidential race after DDHQ and Fox News predicted he had surpassed the 270 electoral vote threshold and defeated Kamala Harris.

“America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” Trump said from his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Viral claim:

“Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly just called Donald Trump to acknowledge and congratulate him,” said one person on X, a platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Kamala Harris concedes the election by calling out Donald Trump,” another added.

“Claims that Vice President Kamala Harris has called on President-elect Donald J. Trump to concede the race and congratulate him on his victory are false,” a third person tweeted on the Elon Musk-led platform.

Kamala Harris cancels speech:

Vice President Harris canceled her speech on Tuesday evening but is expected to speak on Thursday. Her campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond said the Democratic nominee would return not only to address her supporters but also the nation.
