Diddy investigation: Overwhelming majority of Hollywood celebs are ‘deadly afraid’ of getting involved in criminal proceedings | Hollywood

Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ arch-rival in the rap business, is not the only one speaking out against the controversial hip-hop mogul, who has now been arrested and charged with three counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, conspiracy to commit organized crime and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. Dawn Richard and Aubrey O’Day, members of Combs’ girl group Danity Kane, Kesha, former Bad Boy rapper and politician Shyne and Mary J Blige, to name a few, have also joined the venomous discourse against the Revolt founder, either without sugarcoating their statements or in a cryptic manner. A seemingly endless list of high-profile Hollywood stars linked to the disgraced rapper in the past have either remained silent or spoken in hushed tones about the questionable rumors surrounding Diddy. The list includes his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, longtime friends Ashton Kutcher and Jay-Z, his mentee Justin Bieber, Leonardo DiCaprio (who was a frequent attendee at Diddy’s parties), the Kardashians and another longtime friend, Naomi Campbell.

Experts comment on Hollywood celebrities’ silence on Diddy’s accusation

According to a report by Fox News, experts insist that although no other famous Hollywood star from the list is involved in the criminal case, many are remaining silent despite the music mogul’s recent indictment and arrest because they are “scared to death.”

“Celebrities remain silent because they are scared to death that their brands will be lost to fans because of their ties to Diddy. And worse, they are afraid that getting in his way could end in disaster,” said Eric Schiffer, CEO of Reputation Management Consultants.

Combs, known for partying like there’s no tomorrow, often invited a large number of celebrities to his soirees. However, an “overwhelming majority of the music and entertainment industry” was left out because there was “no shortage of reasons” why they had not spoken out about the allegations against P Diddy, claimed Doug Eldridge, founder of Achilles PR.

And why is that? The “severity of the charges, the detailed allegations in the indictment, and the long-standing rumors surrounding Combs” have left these stars no choice but to stay away, presumably to avoid any connection to the allegations made against Combs in the early 2000s.

Why do many Hollywood stars probably avoid talking about Diddy?

After making headlines in February 2024 for filing a $30 million lawsuit against Diddy, Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones, accusing him of sexually harassing, drugging and threatening him. Despite the lawsuit, the rapper-producer, who worked with Combs on his 2023 The love album, He largely avoided public appearances and statements. In an unusual move, he finally broke his silence in an interview with Rolling Stone in August.

Diddy has been described as a “monster” who could use any means possible to get out of any situation and would not take no for an answer. “He (told me) himself, ‘I’m going to punch my mama.’ Anyone who can even say that in jest is a monster. He’s not to be messed with. For someone whose brand is Love Records, who changed his name to Love and named his kid Love, he’s not showing love. He’s just marketing.”

Jones also claimed that since suing Diddy, he has been unable to find a steady job in the industry. “It feels like so many people are secretly cheering (Combs) on. Or maybe they’re cheering for me and they’re just afraid to say anything,” he added.

The indictment against Diddy, unsealed Tuesday after his arrest in New York City, indirectly lays out Lil Rod’s side of the story, claiming the Bad Boy for Life used “acts of violence and threats” to secure the “absolute loyalty” of people associated with his businesses. Prosecutors believe Diddy’s business empire appears to have evaded exposure of any alleged illegal activities by “engaging intimidation, manipulation, bribery and threats of retaliation against individuals who witnessed crimes committed by members and employees of the business.”
