DISNEY GIVES FIRST LOOK AT THE REBOOT OF “WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE”

Disney definitely knows how to keep fans excited as they prepare for the premiere of a rebooted series. Wizards of Waverly Place Fans are really excited as the entertainment giant just released a first look at the Wizards of Waverly Place Restart, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

The magic will no doubt return to the small screen in the rebooted series starring actress Janice LeeAnn Brown. So what can fans expect from the new series? Check out a quick synopsis below, written by Deadline.com.

The pilot for the reboot comes from writers and producers Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who are behind another Disney Channel comedy spinoff, Raven’s Home. It follows a mysterious incident at WizTech, where adult Justin Russo has left his magical powers behind and chosen to live a normal, human life with his wife and two sons. But he’s in for a surprise when a powerful young wizard in need of training shows up at his door… and Justin must confront his past to secure the future of the wizarding world.

“The Wizards of Waverly Place have captured hearts with their captivating adventures and many laughs and have given children and families all over the world unforgettable memories,” Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis commented on the upcoming series in an earlier statement.

“We can’t wait to immerse ourselves in the magical world of Wizards again and invite longtime fans and a new generation to experience the magic alongside Selena, David and our incredible cast and crew.”

In addition to Brown, who will play the young sorceress Billie in the series, Disney also brings back series originals Selena Gomez (Alex Russo) and David Henrie (Justin Russo). Both Gomez and Henrie will serve as executive producers on the project. Gomez is initially only slated to appear in the first episode of the show, while Henrie is slated to appear in multiple episodes.

New cast members in the upcoming project include: Alkaio Thiele will play Roman Russo, Justin’s older son, Max Matenko, his younger son, and Mimi Gianopulos is Justin’s wife Giada.

Although we do not have a specific premiere date yet, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Premiere is planned on Disney Channel And Disney+ later this year.
