“I never thought in my life that this would go viral. I was just talking about my childhood and my truth,” King said People Magazine. “I didn’t want to hurt him. A lot of people said, ‘How could she say that about her family?’ and ‘Everything has to be kept behind closed doors.’ No, it doesn’t have to be. “Your father is one of my childhood crushes,” Bunnie King said last month in Actors from “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo”. King described her relationship with her father as a uniquely up-and-down one: “I put out my record and people finally started asking about my father,” she said. “My father called me and was like, ‘Don’t you fucking talk about me in the press.'”

She recalled: “If I ever spent a summer with my father, it would be on a Film set. I’d just get lost in all the hustle and bustle. If I ever messed up a shot, if I ever talked, I’d be in damn trouble.”

Bunnie asked, “Did you ever feel like the two of you could form a connection?” King said, “Not until I was much, much older.”

The Singer of “Ex’s & Oh’s” recalled, “I was a really, really heavy kid. My dad sent me to fat camp and then I got in trouble for a year for spraining my ankle and I didn’t lose any weight.”

Bunnie interjected and asked, “Did your father ever try to help you?” to which King replied, “No, he never helped me. I never wanted his help.”

“He didn’t have a very good reputation either. I don’t want to be associated with him. He’s just not nice. You can want so much for someone to change; you can’t control other people’s actions. You can’t control other people’s feelings. You can only control how you react and what you do with your feelings, and sometimes I just fucking boil up and fucking explode,” she said.
