Expert predictions for the NFC West showdown

Expert predictions for the NFC West showdown

The Los Angeles Rams are looking to avenge their tough loss to the Detroit Lions last weekend and will face the Arizona Cardinals. Los Angeles is once again on the road hoping for a big division win.

If the Rams win, they will feel much better heading into their matchup with the San Francisco 49ers the following week. But who will win this game?

The Rams team members at Sports Illustrated provide you with predictions for the game.

Matt Levine: The Rams have suffered injuries throughout their roster, which could cause problems in this game. The Cardinals played very well on the road against the Buffalo Bills last week and could carry that momentum into this game. The injuries will be tough to overcome and the Cardinals will get the big win against Los Angeles.

Prediction: Cardinals 30, Rams 20

James Brizuela: The Rams have been dealing with numerous injuries to the offensive line and star Puka Nacua, but they still find ways to make their roster work. Divisional matchups are always tough, but Los Angeles is expected to come away with a hard-fought victory.

Prediction: Rams 24, Cardinals 21

John Robinson IV: The Rams’ offensive line is weakened by injuries and Arizona should take advantage of that deficiency to win.

Prediction: Cardinals 24, Rams 17

Valentina Martinez: Although the Rams have already lost several players to injuries, they will get the job done in Arizona. It will be another round of heroics and the Rams will pull out a big win.

Prediction: Rams 26, Cardinals 16

Jeremy Hanna: This is a tough call. Both teams lost last week in close games that could have gone either way if a few things had gone differently. However, the Rams are much more banged up than the Cardinals with several key players injured. Unless Matthew Stafford pulls off a miracle, which he can do, Arizona wins this week.

Prediction: Cardinals 27, Rams 23

Eva Geitheim: The Cardinals will likely be as troublesome an opponent for many as they were in Week 1 against Buffalo, but I don’t think the Rams will lose 2-0, and the Stafford-led offense should be enough to get the win.

Prediction: Rams 24, Cardinals 17

Ricardo Sandoval: Despite being a weakened roster, the Rams owed the Cardinals a lot in the Sean McVay era, and that shouldn’t stop now. The Cardinals are a better team in 2024 with a healthy Kyler Murray on their side, but the Rams have enough on their side to take care of their division rivals. As long as the Rams’ offensive line stays intact on Sunday, LA should be able to emerge victorious.

Alex Kirschbaum: After their defeat against the Detroit Lions and their old friend Jared Goff in the second half of the Wild Card season, the Rams now want to score their first win of the season, which they should easily achieve against the combative Cardinals, who gave the mighty Bills a fright.

Prediction: Rams 24, Cardinals 13
