Falcons place WR Rondale Moore on reserve/injured list, sign former Texas punter

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Atlanta Falcons have placed wide receiver Rondale Moore on their reserve/injured list, the team announced Thursday.

Moore was carted out of practice on Wednesday with an aircast on his right leg. The team announced that it was a knee injury.

The injury occurred during one of the final 11-on-11 duels. The Falcons’ second offense faced the Miami Dolphins’ second defense. Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. threw an incomplete pass to wide receiver Josh Ali in the back right end zone. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until attention turned to the opposite corner. Moore was on the ground and was soon being tended to by trainers.

Moore was eventually strapped to a stretcher and placed on the cart. Practice ended early after the Falcons gathered in a circle for a team moment.

“Our thoughts and prayers are of course with Rondale,” Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins said afterwards.

Acquired from the Arizona Cardinals in the offseason in exchange for quarterback Desmond Ridder, Moore was listed as a backup on the Falcons’ latest roster, both as a wide receiver and kickoff returner. But Moore had earned more first-team playing time on offense, especially since full-gear practice was introduced last week.
