Family, age and more for the first-year Texas football quarterback

The name Manning is very familiar to football fans, from Archie to Peyton to Eli.

The latest Manning to arrive on the scene is Texas redshirt freshman quarterback Arch Manning. The Longhorns’ young signal-caller has already impressed fans with his athleticism, but was forced to take on a more prominent role Saturday against UTSA after starter Quinn Ewers left the game due to injury.

According to coach Steve Sarkisian, Ewers had a strained abdomen.

However, Texas did not experience a drop in performance at the position. Shortly after his appearance against the Roadrunners, Arch Manning ran a 67-yard touchdown to increase Texas’ lead to 28-7 in the second quarter. The run was the longest by a Texas quarterback since Vince Young in 2005.

Who is Arch Manning’s father?

Arch Manning is the son of Cooper Manning and Ellen Heidingsfelder. Cooper Manning played wide receiver at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, the same high school where Arch Manning became the top recruit in the country.

Cooper Manning had the chance to play college football at Ole Miss, but he was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, which ended his football career.

Heidingsfelder is a lawyer practicing in New Orleans. She and Cooper Manning have been married since 1999.

Arch Manning Age

Arch Manning was born on April 27, 2005, making him 19 years old. He is a redshirt freshman and was the top recruit in the 2023 recruiting class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

What is Arch Manning’s relationship to Peyton Manning?

Arch Manning is the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks. Cooper, Peyton and Eli Manning are all brothers.

Peyton Manning finished runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 1997 before going on to a Pro Football Hall of Fame career with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos. He won Super Bowl 41 with the Colts and Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos.

Eli Manning also won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants, defeating the Tom Brady-led Patriots in Super Bowls 42 and 46.

Arch Manning Family

Arch Manning is named after his grandfather Archie Manning, who played 14 seasons in the NFL. He reached Pro Bowl status with the New Orleans Saints in 1978 and 1979 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

While Arch Manning studied in Texas, Grandpa Archie and Uncle Eli both attended Ole Miss. Peyton Manning, of course, played for the Vols at the college level.
