The only disaster bigger than Daniel Jones’ performance in week one against Minnesota was the New York Giants’ retro uniforms.

The starting quarterback barely completed half of his passes, threw two interceptions and finished the Giants’ 28-6 loss to the Vikings with a quarterback rating of 44.3, which raised eyebrows among many doubters about Gotham City’s $160 million man.

Add to that six interceptions and only two touchdowns in his last seven games, and the doubts seem justified.

All is not lost for Jones, however, as he faces a weak Washington Commanders defense in Week 2 just when he needs it most.

Washington’s faltering defense allowed four touchdowns and 289 yards to Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1. The Giants may not have the Bucs’ offensive weapons, but Jones and rookie wide receiver Malik Numbers will have plenty of opportunities to exploit their NFC East rival’s weaknesses and put up numbers.

If Jones finds an open field to run (which he should), all the better.

With Jordan Love unable to take the field for the Green Bay Packers due to injury, fantasy managers looking to assemble a starting lineup this week should consider Jones, who has a career QB rating of 98.0, 215 yards, less than one interception and 1.4 touchdowns per game against the Commanders.

Jones is available in six and seven percent of Yahoo and ESPN leagues, respectively.
