Feasibility study reveals numerous deficiencies at Attleboro fire and police station | Local news

ATTLEBORO – There is no doubt that the city’s fire and police departments need new buildings, as both are housed in what are quite possibly the oldest and most dilapidated municipal buildings in Attleboro.

The Union Street fire station is over 100 years old and the Park Street police station, also built for the Elks nearly a century ago, has narrow hallways, insufficient office space, a leaky roof (which was just repaired), crumbling entrances, and insufficient room to interview crime victims and suspects. In short, it was never intended to be a police station.
