Fever’s Lexie Hull accidentally makes an offensive remark and makes her teammates laugh

The mood in the Indiana Fever locker room seemed flawless on Wednesday night.

The Fever ended a long losing streak against the Connecticut Sun with an 84-80 win thanks to Kelsey Mitchell’s 23 points and Caitlin Clark’s 19. Lexie Hull, who has emerged as a key player for the team since returning from the Olympic break, contributed 17 points.

The three players stood on the podium after the game to speak to reporters, and a comment from Hull about her influence on the game left her teammates in an uproar.

“…Get as many balls as you can and take advantage of them…” Hull said before looking over at Clark and Mitchell and bursting into laughter.

“Oh, Lex,” Clark replied, trying to stay calm.

Hull had three assists and made 4 of 6 three-point shots.

The win over the Sun was her first start since July 10, but she has played more minutes since the team’s first game back against the Phoenix Mercury. She played 18 minutes in the team’s win over Phoenix on August 16. She played 31 minutes against Connecticut.

During that five-game span, she averaged 11.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and an assist per game in 25.4 minutes per game. In 20 games before the break, Hull averaged just 3.6 points per game in 13.2 minutes per game.

Indiana has a 4-1 record since returning to the court. The Fever have a 15-16 record this season, their most wins since 2016, when they finished the year 17-17. It was also the last season they reached the postseason.
