Fog at the beginning, then mostly cloudy today

RICHMOND, Virginia – Thick fog spread throughout parts of the area this morning.

The sky is mostly cloudy today, with isolated showers possible. Maximum temperatures will be just over 27 degrees.

The weekend will be partly cloudy and humid, with highs around 27 degrees. Scattered showers are possible Saturday, and a few showers are possible Sunday. The greatest chance for showers is in Southern Virginia.

We are monitoring the possibility of a low pressure system forming off the Mid-Atlantic coast that could be tropical or subtropical. Computer models are pushing this system northwestward and bringing some rain to our region overnight Monday into Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

Elsewhere, the remnants of Francine are weakening and will move toward Memphis by Friday.

Tropical Depression Seven is located in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. It is expected to develop into Tropical Storm Gordon and move westward.
