Foo Fighters cancel show at Soundside Music Festival after apology from Dave Grohl

Foo Fighters cancel show at Soundside Music Festival after apology from Dave Grohl

The Foo Fighters will no longer perform at the Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut, where the band was scheduled to headline on Saturday, September 28, along with Noah Kahan.

The band announced the news on Instagram, writing: “Foo Fighters will no longer be performing at Soundside Music Festival this weekend. Please visit the festival website for more information.”

Soundside – a new festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut – was the only Foo Fighters performance scheduled. A specific reason for the band’s cancellation was not announced, but the news comes just two weeks after frontman Dave Grohl revealed in an Instagram post that he had recently become the father of a child out of wedlock.

“I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her. I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” Grohl wrote in a post on Sept. 10. “We are grateful for your consideration for all of the children affected as we move forward together.”

Foo Fighters have not played a concert since September 6, when the band played a short set at a private event in Anaheim. The band’s last public performance was on August 18 at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

Soundside Music Festival has not yet announced if a new act will replace Foo Fighters on the lineup. In addition to Kahan, Saturday’s lineup includes Goo Goo Dolls, Fleet Foxes and Boyz II Men. Jack White and Greta Van Fleet will headline Sunday, with other artists including Bleachers, Norah Jones and Teddy Swims.
