Football Preview 2024 | Evergreen Park aims for playoffs for sixth consecutive year

CONFERENCE: Southern suburban red

HEAD COACH: Jim Ramazinski

Record 2023: 6-4 (42-13 loss to Sycamore in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs)

OUTLOOK: Evergreen Park has made five straight postseason appearances and the playoffs nine times in the last 12 seasons. Coach Jim Ramazinski is in his second season with the Mustangs and is looking to keep the momentum going.

Evergreen Park has four returning starters on offense and five on defense. Seniors include Armani Bravo-Hassan (OL), David Herrera (DL/OL), David Johnson (RB), Caleb Keyser (S) and Genesis Ward (DE).

Six influential players from last season are now playing college football, but Ramazinski is confident his young players can step up.

“We hope to compete for the conference championship and make the playoffs,” he said.

Last season, running backs Jedidiah Adjayi and Antonio Clay-Jones were unstoppable. David Johnson will replace the two graduates and offer them roughly the same.

“He brings toughness and leadership to the running game,” Ramazinski said.

DID YOU KNOW? The soccer field at Evergreen Park has new turf, a video scoreboard, and a newly paved running track that everyone loves to show off.
