During the game, former Saints star wide receiver Michael Thomas went viral for blaming quarterback Derek Carr for pass attempts that took Chris Olave and Juwan Johnson out of the game on Sunday. Then Olave’s brother Josh Olave Thomas agreed, telling a fan that his brother’s concussions weren’t worth playing with Carr in New Orleans.

After the game, another former Saint made a joke about the team’s current situation. As the hot seat reaches its highest temperature yet, Carolina Panthers cornerback Lonnie Johnson Jr. posted his prediction for the rest of Saints head coach Dennis Allen’s career. Johnson Jr. played for the Saints in 2023.

“D—, DA’s finally going to Denver, isn’t he?” Johnson Jr. posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Sunday afternoon after the Panthers’ win. The post ended with a laugh and a shrug emoji.

Johnson Jr.’s prediction for Denver assumes that the team’s former coach, Sean Payton, is with the Broncos, bringing with him many of his former colleagues from New Orleans. Before becoming head coach in 2022, Allen was the Saints’ defensive coordinator.

Johnson Jr. had two tackles in Carolina’s win on Sunday.
