Fortnite announces an “easy way to grab all Premium Passes at once” while detailing the new Cross-Pass XP progression

Epic has announced a revamp of its various mode-specific Fortnite passes that will soon make it possible to progress through each one at the same time, regardless of which mode players are currently playing in – and that’s in addition to the company’s announcements that it’s ready , an “Easy way to grab all Premium Passes at once.

As it currently stands, players can progress in Fortnite’s Battle Royale Battle Pass by earning XP through any gameplay experience. However, the Festival Pass and LEGO Pass can only be leveled up by playing in their respective modes (i.e. Fortnite Festival and Lego Fortnite). However, that is set to change from November 2nd.

From this date, all XP earned, regardless of the mode in which it was generated, will count towards the Battle Pass and the Music Pass (the new name for the Festival Pass) at the same time. From December 1st, the changes will also apply to the LEGO Pass. As part of this overhaul, the Music and LEGO Passes will be changed to a format similar to the Battle Pass, meaning one title each will contain both free and premium rewards – but this will only happen with the current Lego Pass and Music Pass comes into force and takes its course.

To accommodate these changes, Epic is waiving Festival Points starting November 2nd, as well as Battle Stars and Studs (starting December 1st), so the only earned currency required to unlock tiers in each pass is XP . It will be possible to claim rewards in a non-consecutive order across all unlocked pages of each pass, as is currently the case with the Battle Pass, and players will be able to configure their passes to automatically unlock rewards as XP is earned. Additionally, players can purchase Pass rewards directly (up to an unspecified limit) if they want something they haven’t been able to unlock yet.

Epic notes that players will still need to purchase the Battle Pass, Music Pass and LEGO Pass separately if they want to unlock each pass’ premium rewards, but announces that an “easy way to unlock all Premium Passes will soon be available.” “One to get hold of” is introduced. There’s no word on how this will work – or whether Epic will offer a bundle discount for players who want passes for all three modes, for example – but it shouldn’t be long before we hear more.

The news that Fortnite’s pass changes will take effect this Saturday, November 2nd adds credence to unconfirmed reports. Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix will be released on the same day. This mini-season is expected to follow the same format as last year’s hugely popular Chapter 1 Remix, which – as the name suggests – brought back elements of Fortnite’s first chapter to evoke nostalgic fun.
