A serious error at a gas station in Mississippi resulted in diesel fuel being pumped into non-diesel vehicles, causing inconvenience to both customers and the fuel delivery service that made the error.

A gas station attendant accidentally filled the regular gasoline tank with diesel fuel at the Exxon gas station on the corner of West Main Street and Highway 45 Alternate in West Point on Wednesday, August 21.

The Exxon gas station addressed the situation in a Facebook post, apologizing for the inconvenience and assuring customers that they are committed to making everything right. “If anyone is having problems with their car, bring it in so we can fix it. Bring your receipt so I can see when you purchased gas,” the post said. “We always take care of all of our customers, so don’t worry – we take care of anyone whose car is affected by our fuel.”

The company responsible for supplying fuel has offered to repair the affected vehicles. Customers are asked to bring their receipts to the petrol station for repairs. Diesel and petrol engines are not interchangeable and using the wrong fuel can cause significant engine damage.
