Game Recap: Rams defeat Raiders 20-15

INGLEWOOD, Calif. – The Rams (2-4) defeated the Raiders 20-15 on Sunday at SoFi Stadium, with safety Jaylen McCollough’s second interception of the game with 1:28 left in the fourth quarter securing the victory.

Los Angeles turned two interceptions by Las Vegas quarterback Gardner Minshew into touchdown drives on each of the following possessions – one late in the first half and another midway through the third quarter – to build a 20-6 lead. Combined with LA’s defense holding the Las Vegas offense to five field goals – and 0-2 in the redzone – and McCollough’s late interception, it was enough to overcome almost costly self-inflicted mistakes in the second half.

Cornerback Cobie Durant also had a big game for LA’s defense, recording an interception and a forced fumble that was returned by safety Kam Curl for a touchdown.

Running back Kyren Williams finished the game with 21 carries for 76 yards and two rushing touchdowns; His two rushing scores surpassed Eric Dickerson and he scored the most touchdowns by a Rams player in his first 17 starts.

Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) was inactive for this game.

Here is the full game summary, presented by Corona:

After a scoreless first quarter, the Raiders took an early 3-0 lead on a 38-yard field goal from kicker Daniel Carlson with 14:04 left in the second quarter.

The Rams reached the Raiders’ 49 on the ensuing possession, but gave the ball back from that point after a failed conversion attempt on 4th-and-1.

Cornerback Cobie Durant gained a big advantage for Los Angeles late in the first half after pressure from fullback Jared Verse forced a missed throw by Las Vegas quarterback Gardner Minshew, who had replaced Aidan O’Connell after O’Connell suffered a thumb injury and it was doubtful whether I would return. The Rams turned the turnover into points with a 13-yard touchdown run by Kyren Williams to take a 7-3 lead with three minutes left in the first half.
